Animal on the Field

Ashley is an Animal on the soccer field. She has been bumped, kicked, had her lip wrapped around her braces, knocked down and this past week....concussed. (Yes, I know that is probably not a word, but I am making it one today. It means she has a concussion.)(This is a shot from her ball to the mouth, it literally wrapped her lip throughout her braces. It took several attempts to free it. She was so mad she had to sit out until she quit bleeding before they would let her get back in the game.)

Now comes the hard part...keeping her down. She has been banished from all practices, games and anything loud or fun until she can get rid of her awful headache. We are going on 9 days. To keep herself busy, she is cooking. We are enjoying her apple pies, cookies and fanciful creations. Once she no longer has a headache for a week, we can go back to the doctor for a note that says she can resume play. Hopefully by next week's big rival...Bethel.

ashley is so dang cute... (not sure if she wants me to call her that 'wink wink') but i hope that head ache disappears too. a boy from my home town got a concussion playing football and then on his second one he had a seizure and was in a comma for 3 months. he is not the same. i'm not saying that will happen to ashely, but head aches are a sympton of something not right with the body. i hope she is ok!!! tell that little fire ball to take it easy ;)
